Albertville, Alabama (September 30, 2026) – Albertville is getting colder! PermaCold Logistics has officially broken ground on a new state-of-the-art cold storage facility that will add significant temperature-controlled storage capacity to one of Alabama’s most important food processing and poultry regions.
The 120,000 square-foot facility, expertly designed and constructed by Ti Cold, will feature approximately 17,000 pallet positions and rise approximately 50 feet tall. The facility is being developed to provide modern, high-capacity frozen storage and logistics services to manufacturers, processors and distributors throughout Albertville and the surrounding Southeast market.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together representatives from PermaCold Logistics, Ti Cold, the development team, local business leaders and community representatives to celebrate the beginning of a project that will add important infrastructure to the region’s growing food and logistics economy.
“I’ve been building cold storage facilities for more than 30 years, and over that time, I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in nearly 100 cold storage projects,” said Rob Adams of Ti Cold.. “These groundbreaking days never get old. We are proud to partner with PermaCold Logistics on this project and to bring our specialized cold storage experience to Albertville. This is exactly the type of facility Ti Cold was built to construct.”
Community leaders and project partners gathered in Albertville to celebrate the groundbreaking of PermaCold Logistics’ new frozen cold storage facility. Participants included representatives from the City of Albertville, the County Commission, the Albertville Industrial Development Board, the Alabama Farmers Federation and project banking and development partners.
Located in the heart of Alabama’s poultry and food manufacturing industry, the new facility is strategically positioned to support growing demand for frozen storage and distribution capacity throughout the region. Its design incorporates the specialized construction requirements needed to support efficient, high-performance frozen food storage and distribution operations.

The development is supported by an experienced team of financial, development and construction partners, including JPMorgan Chase, BHM Bank, Alabama Farm Credit, Five Points and UB Community Development, along with PermaCold Logistics and Ti Cold.

The groundbreaking marks the official start of construction and another step forward in expanding the temperature-controlled infrastructure available to food manufacturers, processors and distributors throughout Albertville and the greater Southeast corridor.
